TRANSCRIPT: Back in February 5th, 1981, there was a series of arrests at 5 different bath houses where police arrested 300 gay men. Similar to what happened in the Stonewall protests in New York City with an infuriated community, there was a swift overnight organization of a 3000-person rally against the police. During the protests, the crowd chanted, “No more shit! F*** you 52!” From then on began the annual Pride parade, officially starting in 1981 hosted by Pride Toronto.
