SYNC Canada

Sync Leadership is a disabled-led programme exploring Deaf and disabled leadership, founded in 2009 by Sarah Pickthall and Jo Verrent, two disabled leaders based in the UK.

The programme combines leadership theory with one to one coaching, supporting participants to develop their leadership potential. Sync has already run programmes in Australia, South Korea, Singapore and the UK.

Sync Canada is supported by British Council and Canada Council for the Arts. This May, in Toronto, we will work with Deaf and disabled leaders working in arts, culture, heritage and media in Canada, developing new skills, confidence and solutions so those chosen can move their careers forward with renewed purpose.

The program is facilitated by Sarah Pickthall and Jo Verrent. Sarah is Co-Founder of Sync UK. Sarah is an artist, consultant and executive individual and team coach. She is currently studying for an MSc in Coaching and Behaviour Change at Henley Business School, UK. For the last 12 years she has run – a disability, art and inclusion agency. She has also worked for the last 5 years as producer for Deaf artist, Chisato Minamimura.
Jo is Co-Founder of Sync UK. She is Senior Producer of Unlimited and leads on the delivery of Unlimited full time, maintaining the workflow of the team and managing the impact the work has both in the UK and more widely. Jo travels nationally and internationally, promoting the programme and the artists. She is responsible for fundraising, financial monitoring and reporting across the programme.
