7a*11d International Festival

The Toronto Performance Art Collective is pleased to announce the 12th 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art, taking place from October 2 – 7, 2018 at the Theatre Centre and Sur Gallery. This year highlights progressive and provocative works that give voice to beauty, humour, perseverance and intimacy in the face of human struggle. On Sunday October 7 4:30 pm 7a*11d presents Barak adé Soleil at the Theatre Centre (nearest intersection Queen St. West & Dovercourt) with ASL interpretation. Barak is an award-winning artist making dance, theatre and performance art that draws upon the traditions of the African diaspora, queerness, disability culture and postmodernism. He describes his work this way: “My creative aesthetic is informed by the expansive traditions of the African diaspora, postmodern techniques, queer and disability culture, and thoughtful intercultural dialogue. I craft transgressive live art. Be it dance, theatre or undefinable, the artistry comes from a rigorous exploration of how one uniquely moves, as well as how one is part of a larger movement.” This venue is wheelchair accessible and ASL interpretation services. You can buy tickets which are PWYC (Pay What You Can) at 7a-11d.ca
